Phoenix Fest is back for its 11th year as Durham’s funkiest street music festival to celebrate the cultural legacy of the historic Hayti community with a fun-filled day of family-friendly entertainment on Fayetteville Street from 9 am until 6 pm.

Fayetteville Street will be transformed into a bustling bazaar with an early-morning opening parade featuring high-stepping bands and marching teams, all-day music, delicious food and dazzling vendor displays. You’re invited to share in this age-old cultural tradition as we commemorate the hard work, vision and enduring spirit of the elders who founded Hayti over 100 years ago.

Last year's festival drew over 12,000 festival goers of all ages and this year's festival promises to be even bigger and badder.

The parade starts at 9 am and will step off from Elmira Avenue and end at the festival site at Piedmont Avenue. After the parade, visit the vendor bazaar and listen to all-day music from 11 am until 6 pm.

Phoenix Fest is free to the public and is handicapped-accessible.

From I-40, take Fayetteville Rd. toward downtown, past North Carolina Central University. The festival site is located at Fayetteville Street and Lakewood Avenue.
